It all began when the carpenter Karl Stolzer founded his own workshop in 1844, which over time developed more and more into a manufacturing company for various machines. With the construction of sawmills and later sawmills for woodworking, Stolzer laid the foundation for the company's further success. KASTO took the decisive step towards becoming a modern machine tool manufacturer for metalworking in 1947 with a patent for the hacksaw.
At the beginning of the 1970s, the Baden-based company presented the first fully automatic long material storage system. Today, KASTO offers its customers complete solutions from the storage system to the saw to the absorbed saw section. In addition, with its KASTO SmartSolutions, the company offers software solutions developed in-house to increase the productivity of its customers.
The sister company KEURO Besitz GmbH & Co. EDV-Dienstleistungs KG, is also located in Achern.
