KASTO Ltd is a wholly-owned daughter company fo KASTO Maschinenbau, Germany, the world's leading manufacturer of metalcutting bandsaws, circular saws and hacksaws as well as computer-controlled storage and retrieval systems for bar, tube, sheet and other materials. The subsidiary sells and services these products in the UK and Irish markets. Formed on 1st August 2004, the company was originally located in Southampton, taking over from the former KASTO agent in the UK, Rivers Machinery Ltd.
In 2009, the subsidiary relocated its headquarters, showroom, technical centre and warehouse to Milton Keynes to be closer to its customers in the Midlands and North of England. Headed by managing director Ernst Wagner, it is an autonomous business unit that plans and designs production and storage systems for factories and warehouses. The company is also responsible for project management, installation, commissioning, training, service and support, calling on assistance from the German parent company when needed. Six commercial staff report to Mr Wagner, covering sales, business development, product management, service, spares and finance, plus seven full-time service engineers.
