In a KASTO Sawing Center, computer-controlled operating cranes feed a single bar, fully automatic, to an integrated CNC-saw and automatically restore the remnants. A storage computer keeps inventory up-to-date. KASTO offers this flexible manufacturing system for the sawing department complete with storage system, saw, control and service as a one-source supplier!

The flexible saw cell KASTOsawcell is integrated in a UNICOMPACT Honeycomb Storage System; it combines automatic saw cutting with storing, powerful and fast. The reason: The KASTOsawcell works simultaneously on different things. The manipulator is responsible - it ensures fast bar change while the saw is cutting, guaranteeing minimum idle times.

KASTO sawing center with robotic

"We are specialized in stainless steel" or "Le Savoir Fer" as well as "Just in time ready to deliver", the one who describes his products and services in such a refreshing way, has long since left the classic line of steel trade and is obviously dedicated to the service philosophy . This practice report is about the Swiss company Stahl-Contor AG, 8032 Zurich and 8424 Embrach,  which was founded in 1929. Already back in 1994, they bought the first sawing center type KASTO SSZ 140 K.

Two years later, another sawing center type KASTO SSZ 140 K was added. By end of 2009 and despite the ongoing crises, it was invested in a replacement resp. in a KASTO sawing center SSZ but with extended functions. In plain it meant to integrate a high-performance fully automatic circular sawing machine KASTOspeed SC 15 and additonally acut-piece sorting system via robot KASTOsort.
