    The flexible saw cell KASTOsawcell is integrated in a UNICOMPACT Honeycomb Storage System; it combines automatic saw cutting with storing, powerful and fast. The reason: The KASTOsawcell works simultaneously on different things. The manipulator is responsible - it ensures fast bar change while the saw is cutting, guaranteeing minimum idle times. During the cutting process, additional handling sequences are performed in the KASTOsawcell, for example supplying another saw, restoring of bars from one storage cassette into the sawcell and vice versa, from storage cassettes into cantilever arm or sub-compartment cassettes or from cantilever arm in sub-compartment cassettes and vice versa. The manipulator handles either 6,5 m long bars or one of two back-to-back stored bars with a length of 3,2 m each for highest flexibility.

    Using a quick change station (optional) for the material feed into the saw, the last cut remnant is removed and the next bar is buffered - all automatically while the saw is cutting.

    The manipulator's gripper technology is designed to move different shaped bars, such as rounds, squares,flats, hex, channels and angles with or without sensitive surfaces - safely and damage-free to the integrated saw(s). The KASTOsawcell's manipulator grips the material bars, depending on the application, either from above or from the side.
